I’m very happy to welcome you to my about page. Here, you can find out all that there is to know about me, my blog, and what life is like when you’re a clumsy stray cat.
Who am I?
My name is Lisa.
I am a rather clumsy 24-year old Belgian native with an irresistible urge to travel. I love spending time in big cities, but am truly happiest whenever I find myself near the sea. I’m also really interested in languages, photography and history.
As for my desire to travel the world, it was without a doubt heavily influenced by my studying abroad in Rome at the age of 20. My roots in wanting to become a stray cat – be it a clumsy one at that – without a doubt go back to that city and era of my life.
Living in Italy, unsurprisingly, also led to a love for food. Trying local specialties all around the world has become one of my favorite perks of traveling, and I can’t wait to discover all that the world has to offer. Of course, as you can see in the picture below, that also includes wine. Hey – when you’re in Stellenbosch to visit one of your best friends, you have to do a lot of wine tastings, right?
WHAT is it like being a clumsy stray cat?
A challenge. Most of the time.
You know that one girl who always burns herself, hits her toes against something or ends up with mysterious scratches and bruises? That’s me! No matter what I do, it sort of just happens. And that can make life most definitely challenging sometimes.
I mean, imagine how easy it is to just casually walk down a street. Think again. I have a hard time doing so in flats, never mind high heels. Or picture yourself pouring a perfect cup of tea. Nope, can’t do it without spilling at least some. And going into a cave without bumping your head? I don’t even have to try. I have come to terms with it, though, and embrace the extra challenge it adds to my life.
